Pompey area

Pompey Tales

Our next port of call was a little village near Southampton and the New Forrest, where we stayed with my good friend Margaret, Rose had not met her before, so she was a little apprehensive, but they got on ok, worry for nothing.

Our trip round the Forrest took us to Beuleigh and other areas, Rose spent most of the time photographing every flower and animal in the Forest. (I have a bit of photo sorting to do!)

We walked from Beugleigh to Bucklers Hard and back again, so it was lucky that it was a good sunny day..

We also had a nice restful day in Margaret’s garden.

The last day of the visit there we went to Gosport to meet up with my old friends Roger and Tom and their wives Danny and Dianne.

We went out for a nice pub lunch, Tom said, “I know a nice pub to go to”. Unfortunately it was shut, so we opted for a nearby hostelry.

We ordered the food for 6 people, and an hour later 5 dinners turned up, Rose unfortunately was the recipient of the missing dinner. After pointing this out to the staff, after a bit of humming and harring, they produced a free meal for her, at least hers was hot, ours was not so warm although the food was good and still very eatable.

We then spent the night at Margaret’s and then  made our way up to Southend to see my daughter and granddaughter before they went off on they driving holiday to Spain. The last leg of that journey was back here to Suffolk.
